Marco Bezzecchi claimed his first victory since Mugello at the Indonesian Grand Prix, but he feels that the result is ‘more of a loss’.
The Italian bounced back from adversity in Mandalika after his first-lap collision in the Sprint. Bezzecchi crashed with Raul Fernandez at the first corner, prompting harsh comments to the media from the Trackhouse rider.
On Sunday, Bezzecchi kept himself out of trouble as he bided his time with Fernandez. He showed immense pace on the RS-GP and eventually made his move for the lead in the closing stages.
Marco Bezzecchi says Indonesian GP is ‘more of a loss than a victory’
With teammate Jorge Martin finishing third, Bezzecchi’s win at the Indonesian GP moves him 46 points behind with five races to go.
Marc Marquez finished P6 in Mandalika, giving Bezzecchi some renewed hope for the title. But the Aprilia rider is realistic about his chances.

Speaking to TNT Sports after the race, he is not looking to give up in the fight for the title, but he sees his victory in the Indonesian GP as a ‘loss.
Bezzecchi said: “Well, honestly, it’s still far. I’m not the guy that stops believing. So, I know it’s going to be hard, it’s going to be hard.
“It’s more lost, it’s more a loss than a victory, obviously, but this doesn’t make me feel bad. This makes me feel ready to work and try my best, and then if I will be able to fight for more, I will be happy.
“If not, I will have to learn from my mistakes. So yeah, let’s be positive and see you in Phillip Island.”
The Australian GP is another track where Aprilia will look strong. Bezzecchi carries some much needed momentum into the weekend, but as he admits, it will be a tough ask for him to clinch the title over Martin and Marquez.
